The state government has not yet received the due amount of the ambulance that was leased to the rural hospital in Chalisgaon during the Corona period. Therefore, a young man from Chalisgaon attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on his body on Friday in the premises of the collector’s office. Due to the vigilance of District Peth Police Station, further calamity was averted.

The self-immolation youth has been identified as Dheeraj Kasode (resident of Vrindavannagar, Chalisgaon). Dheeraj has a private ambulance. Dheeraj earns his living on that. During the Corona period, Dheeraj’s three ambulances were leased by the rural hospital in Chalisgaon. All these three ambulances had rendered their service within the given time frame. During this period, about Rs. 15 lakh, 51 thousand, 400 were owed to the state government for the three ambulances, and Dheeraj repeatedly demanded that the amount should be received immediately. However, the rural hospital at Chalisgaon did not take any notice of their demand.

The debt is exhausted
Dheeraj has taken a loan and bought an ambulance. However, their loan installments are also overdue. As the demand of the youth was not heeded, on Friday afternoon, he attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on his body in the premises of the collector’s office. Umesh Patil, Sonar etc. employees of Zilla Peth Police Station immediately rushed and seized the petrol bottle and the lighter from the youth.
