Arctic Monkeys will appear at the Ageas Bowl next year FindSexyJobs

ARCTIC Monkeys are set to appear at the Ageas Bowl as part of their biggest UK and Ireland tour to date.

The English rock band, widely regarded as one of the first acts to come to public attention via the internet, will perform at the home of cricket in Hampshire on June 14 next year.

Arctic Monkeys are set to hit the road at the end of May in support of their seventh studio album, The Car, out next month.

The tour kicks off at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium on May 29 and will include shows in Manchester, Middlesbrough, Norwich and Swansea, plus shows in Glasgow and Dublin.

The Hives and The Mysterines will appear as “special guest” openers at the shows.

The current dates mean that Arctic Monkeys will be able to appear for free at Glastonbury on Friday 23rd June or Saturday 24th June. The hugely successful band are also rumored to be planning a return to Worthy Down in Winchester.

Arctic Monkeys were formed in Sheffield by three friends, Alex Turner, Matt Helders and Andy Nicholson.

Their 2006 release, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, became the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history and won Best British Album at the 2007 Brit Awards.

The group’s second album, Favorite Worst Nightmare, was also critically acclaimed and won Best British Album at the 2008 BRIT Awards. They went on to release Humbug (2009) and Suck It and See (2011).

The band’s wider international fame came with the success of their critically acclaimed fifth album AM in 2013.

In the UK, Arctic Monkeys became the first independent band to debut at number one with their first five albums.

Tickets for the 2023 tour are set to go on sale at 9am on Friday 30 September, with pre-sales for fans starting at 9am a day earlier.

Those who order The Car from the band’s official webstore by 3pm on Wednesday 28th September will gain access to a fan pre-sale.
